Ghost At Commodore Ballroom, Vancouver 29/04/2013

Dear fellow Ghost devotees,
the Haze Over North America tour continues and we can follow a bit of it through the videos uploaded on Youtube. Looks like it has been another glorious performance yesterday in Vancouver!

"Year Zero"

Some interesting revelations in this interview on the Quietus

Among all the new interviews that have been conducted recently (if you missed any of those, you can find them all HERE ), today we have this one on the Quietus which deserved a bit of spotlight, since it reveals a few new info and details we had not read in any other interview before.

These parts especially caught our attention:

"the Quietus: We mentioned it briefly that Papa I has been replaced by Papa II – what’s the story there, was it just time for Papa I to be getting his bus pass?

Nameless Ghoul: Yeah, his golden clock – and off he went! But yeah, actually, that was more or less it – we have a succession thing going and his time was up. A new era has begun, so enter a new Pope. And yes, that will happen again. "

"La Mantra Mori" : figuring out lyrics together

Dear fellow Ghost devotees,

in these days, we have been receiving several emails and messages asking for the lyrics of the bonus track "La Mantra Mori" , since they are not featured anywhere officially, so far. We hear you, and we are mesmerized by this song as much as you all are!, but unfortunately, we do not have any lyrics we can be sure of: however, some of us are trying to figure them out in this topic of our message boards, so if you feel like adding your contribution, or if you are interested in keeping up with any updates we have on this song, we suggest you to follow that thread. We can not know if Ghost will ever "hear our desperate call" and reveal the actual lyrics somewhere, but in the meanwhile, it is up to us!

Updates: here are the lyrics ! "La Mantra Mori" lyrics .

Andrewhaug.com has just published this audio interview from Soundwave festival with two of the Nameless Ghouls who talk about Ghost and their fans, and how their concept and approach to music doesn't imply any sort of conformity to a specific scene or trend by the crowd . Enjoy!

On this post we are collecting all the Ghost interviews conducted around the time of the "Infestissumam" release.

Interview on Colorado Spring Indipendent: A Nameless Ghoul answers a few questions and talks about how the new album has been embraced by the "metal community", the black metal back in the 90s, working with Dave Grohl and also some other various topics, the interviewer even came up with a question about the environment:
Indy: And finally, I saw a video online where an interviewer asked when the apocalypse was coming, and you — well, one of you — said that it was already ongoing, and seemed to allude to the environment. Are you guys concerned about that?

Into The Endless Depth Of Satan's Eyes

Dear fellow Ghost devotees,

thank Satan (and thanks to the uploader of this video) we can watch something very special today : "Depth Of Satan's Eyes" played live for the first time ever. For this one we really needed a dedicated post, it couldn't be otherwise. In the Coven this has been one of the songs from "Infestissumam" that we have listened to the most and we so hoped it would have been in the setlist, and here it is. The live version is...well, you will hear!  It surely deserves all our appreciation, and more! Powerful song, amazing performance. But be aware. When you hear the chorus in this live version, you will suddenly feel the urge to pack and take the first flight to wherever the next Ghost's show will be. Don't say we did not warn you .

Alright, the video starts, lights off, all we need now is The Burning Light Of Satan's Rays.

Lately we have been getting some auspicia ex caelo...

It was already dark the other night and while one of us was driving to work a storm could be seen breaking in the distance. "Year Zero" was playing on the stereo, and in the exact moment the song goes "HELL SATAN!" a huge lightning broke the sky. That was pretty impressive. Then, tonight, we just spotted this inspiring sight....

This sucks so bad : Coachella is NOT streaming Ghost's performance

Dear fellow Ghost devotees,

this afternoon some of you will probably be at Coachella festival, attending Ghost' s live ritual in person, and that is very fortunate for you, but what about all of us who can't be there? Well, we were just as happy as a true devotee can be when we heard that Coachella will be streaming live performances from the festival on their Youtube channel. We were already checking time zones, arranging our plans and everything, to make sure not to miss the streaming. Then, we went on Coachella's page to see which of their three channels was the right one to follow, and embed the code on here, to watch it with all of you together as one, and what do we see? THAT LOUSY SCHEDULE DOES NOT INCLUDE GHOST! Seriously, that is one of the most unfair thing ever. No no, just NO. All the witches of the Coven are extremely upset and will be casting curses the whole night  for this. This is such a huge disappointing failure!Hell. What can we do. We will probably rewatch "Rosemary's Baby" once again and try not to think of how pointless it can be for a channel to broadcast a live streaming but not including Ghost. The best act you will ever get to host on your stages, Coachella! Come on. They deserve special care. Anyway, we will be posting videos, reviews, pictures and what else can be found about the show on our message boards, so if you are attending and want to tell us your experience, we wait for you  there. Have a hot-as-hell ritual you all!

New interview on Pitchfork

Dear fellow Ghost devotees,

with the north american tour starting off in just a couple of days, interviews in the U.S. media are literally multiplying: here is a new one on Pitchfork, who talked on the phone with A Nameless Ghoul about working with Raskulinecz, how they got signed to Universal, reaching broader crowds, playing with Dave Grohl and other interesting topics. Speaking of  an aspect that differentiate  them from many other "satanic" bands, the Ghoul explained that "most of them have a very high demand on their listener, where most of the time they’re preaching for priests and they demand of their fans to be as devoted as they are. And there’s always some sort of “kill yourself” message in there. Whereas we are, in many ways, like a mirror reflection, where we’re trying to reflect on, basically “religiosity." We’re basically doing the Catholic Church, we just have drawn a little on the painting. And we’re doing so because it’s such a powerful way of making you guys, and ourselves, aware of the solemn, and the seriousness to it, because it’s the priest and the clergy, and the Church, is something that most people in the Western world associate with authority. Even atheists sort of throw out their gum before going into a church, just because there is something within the confines of a church, there is something in the walls, most people can feel that power. Some people call it “God,” but there are many words for it."

Comment on "Jigolo Har Megiddo" and Interview with A Nameless Ghoul

Dear fellow Ghost devotees,

a new video comment has been unveiled today, this time the Nameless Ghouls talk about "Jigolo Har Megiddo":

So we have this mountain in Israel, the biblical Armageddon battle and...the sort of guys who are worshiped by girls despite the fact they are treating them "like shit" .( We guess that happens because it's really all in the attitude, right?) One of them also talked to ArtistDirect in this interview, about the new album, the controversy in the U.S. around the artwork (apparently "The problem was a vagina in the art not the inverted crosses"), and commented on some other tracks.

Album Signing and Art Gallery in Los Angeles

Dear fellow Ghost devotees,

a great opportunity for all of you in the Los Angeles area: on tuesday, april 16th, The Gallery next to The Burgundy Room will showcase limited edition Ghost litographs by Adam Fuchs, available for purchase, and most remarkable, Papa Emeritus II and the Nameless Ghouls will be present to sign copies of "Infestissumam"! You will have the pleasure of their unholy presence from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM (PDT), that's right, two hours of blasphemous signing all for you, can you imagine how closer to Lucifer this will bring you? It must be the name of your city that brought you this luck, we guess. Enjoy your extraordinary gift, and then, if you like, come tell us about it in the message boards! And... remember to behave yourself with reverence, you surely do not want to displease Papa.

"Per Aspera Ad Inferi" - a comment by A Nameless Ghoul

Dear fellow Ghost devotees,

another video comment about the meaning of "Infestissumam" lyrics has been revealed today through Metalsucks.net, and this time it talks about "Per Aspera Ad Inferi" . Probably anyone of us who have delt with ambition at some point in their lives, can easily get the sense of the song. Who would resist to the the Devil' s tempting promise that "all your dreams will come true"? Even when it takes selling your soul to him...ambitions can totally be addicitve. This reminds us so much of "The Devil's Advocate", of course. We also think that the marching rhythm of the song definitely represents very well how implacable humans can get when they are moved by fervid ambitions.

Come Together As One : We Have Message Boards!

Dear fellow Ghost devotees,

to celebrate the birth of the new album "Infestissumam" today we are having the

We never thought this site would have grown this fast but here we are and we can only be happy that so many people have shown appreciation and have been willing to share their passion for Ghost with us, so it was right about time to have a proper place for our discussions.
We invite you all to join us in the boards to talk about Ghost, their music and art, sharing our experiences and comments. See you there!
P.s.A brief technical note: if you experience any issues connecting to the site, please let us know writing an email to: thenamelesswitch@gmail.com - during the first months we still have to evaluate the actual resource usage so we might need to do some adjustment with our hosting plan - we hope not, but if that happens, please be patient, listen to some Ghost songs, and check back later, thank you!

INFESTISSUMAM : the artwork

A standing ovation from all of us at the Coven for the amazing work of Zbignew Bielak featured in the scandinavian edition of "Infestissumam".

An update: The artwork handprints are now available for purchase, more details on this post!

Full album streaming on Pitchfork - time of damnation has come...

Dear fellow Ghost devotees,

for those of you who wish to hear "Infestissumam" in advance, the entire album is now streaming on Pitchfork  HERE.

Yes yes, apparently Ghost have chosen to make it difficult for the ones who want to wait for the physical copy to arrive...here in the Coven we really did not want to go for the eiaculatio praecox as we said just the other day, but now with this legit streaming....one of us was too tempted and had to listen. The other witch is still waiting for her copy of the album! She said she can not waste it all this way, and I understand her. But I could not wait anymore when I saw that the official Ghost page itself shared a legal link to listen to the album!
