Ghost at Webster Theater, Hartford (CT) 27/07/2013

Dear fellow Ghost devotees,

a first video from the ritual in Hartford has appeared online including the intro where Papa preaches to the crowd on singing along and participating, at this point you have probably already figured out it is...

SHOW REVIEWS

"1960s psychedelic pop fused with a bit of first-wave black metal and a helping of a Blue Öyster Cult are the most common comparisons, but fans and detractors alike have been arguing about this since the band’s first record came out a few years back. At the end of the day, it’s largely irrelevant, as Ghost’s performance speaks for itself."
"Concert Review + Photos: Ghost & Skeletonwitch at the Webster Theater in Hartford, CT", on TheyWillRockYou.com

"Papa commented that earlier we had a part where the we had to singing along, and we didn’t do so well. “You’ve got screaming taken care of, but in order to wrap this up, we need you to sing!” And in the end, the crowd came together to sing. Together, as one."
"Ghost - The Webster Theater Hartford (CT), on New England Music Blog

" If you ever want to see a group of jaded metal fans with giant ear to ear grins on their faces that would have been the perfect moment.Twice now I have been to a live Ritual (as the fans call their concerts) with Ghost and they are simply one of the best performers that exist today"

Interview with a Nameless Ghoul on Spazio Rock

Dear fellow Ghost devotees,

a new interview conducted by Spazio Rock at Sonisphere Milan has been published today, our Nameless
Ghoul speaks about the general reaction of the crowd to the new album, the differences between "Opus Eponymous" and "Infestissumam", how the idea for Ghost started to come together years ago, and also answers the usual questions about their recent success, the image of the band, why they chose to be anonymous and  talks about the main differences between Ghost and the other current bands, particularly regarding the lyrics and the subjects of the songs, which are intended to be kind of escapist, even though they still include references to reality in a subtle manner. Below you can find the complete video of the interview.

Ghost at Olympiastadion, Helsinki (FI) 20/07/2013

tonight in the Coven we are enjoying some videos from the ritual in Helsinki and we are really delighted by how glorious and awesome the voice of our Papa resonates through the stadium: amazing! We are sure many of the attendants have been overwhelmed by the power of the ritual. A Nameless Ghoul Interviewed on Bloodstock Radio

Dear fellow Ghost devotees,

a new interview conducted at Download festival has been published today, Bloodstock Radio spoke to our Nameless Ghoul about the differences between playing in big festivals and headlining shows at night, how important is the role of the band's image in their success, and of course the inevitable questions about maintaining their anonymity and possible plans of eventually revealing their identities one day or not. Speaking of, in this interview we also have a little revelation that we had not officially heard yet so far (though many of us did figure it out), the Ghoul in fact tells openly that at one point, Ghost actually changed one of their members without having to explain anything, and then talks a bit about their beginning when they were still a few members building the "core" of the band and planning the whole concept. Below you can watch the entire clip:

Memories from the European Tour!

Dear fellow Ghost devotees,

while our Papa and His Nameless Ghouls are (hopefully for them) enjoying some well deserved rest in their
cloister before going back on the road to bring their rituals to all the lucky attendants, just as we did for the Haze Over North America Tour, now we would like to relive together some memories   from this latest tour too, through some pictures and videos we have handpicked among all the footage found so far from their European tour. Of course these are just some moments, but you can find videos and pictures from each ritual in the Coven archive from June and July!

A Nameless Ghoul on Metal XS

Dear fellow Ghost devotees,

a couple of questions for our Nameless Ghoul too in this clip from Hellfest on Metal XS, where he explains what part of Ghost requires more time to take shape, the music or the image, and also offers a simple but clever answer when asked about what he would do if he actually had the chance to be the Pope: of course, we have already learned by now that he is very wise! Here is the video, a Nameless Ghoul speaks from min. 8:25 to min.10:10 :

"Infestissumam" among Loudwire's best metal albums of 2013

Dear fellow Ghost devotees,

Music webzine Loudwire has published its list of the best metal albums of this year (so far), and, not surprisingly since we know it is a masterpiece, "Infestissumam" is one of them; along with: Autopsy's "The Headless Ritual", Clidren Of Bodom's "Halo of Blood", Black Sabbath's "13", Deafheaven's "Sunbather", Kylesa's "Ultraviolet", The Dillinger Escape Plan's "One Of Us Is The Killer", Immolation's "Kingdom Of Conspiracy", The Ocean's "Pelagial", Bring Me the Horizon's "Sempiternal", Killswitch Engage's "Disarm The Descent" and Cult of Luna's "Vertikal". Not that we didn't already know it is one the best albums ever, but still, very good for Ghost that their art is receiving proper recognition: they totally deserve this, and more! Congratulations to our Papa and the Nameless Ghouls by the whole Coven!

Tickets and/or Prize Pack Giveaway!

Dear fellow Ghost devotees,

from the official Ghost' s Facebook page it is now possible
to access a new tab which gives us the chance to
win a pair of tickets for one of the upcoming rituals in the U.S. and/or a prize pack (select what ritual you are entering for, or the "No date near me" option to choose the prize pack).
We do not know yet what the prize pack includes, needless to say many of us would appreciate to receive at home Papa Emeritus II, one of the Nameless Ghouls, or even better the whole band. Sadly enough this is unlikely to happen, but we are sure that whatever Ghost related items are featured in the pack, they will make every devotee who receives them chanting to Satan with sinful joy.
Well then, here is the direct link to the app : Satanas Vobiscum!

Ghost to be opening for Alice In Chains this fall

Dear fellow Ghost devotees,

as kindly reported on our message boards (thank you for the news monkeyforce!), Alice In Chains have just announced this on their official site:

"Alice In Chains is pleased to announce the addition of several UK tour dates this Fall with special guest Ghost. Tickets go on sale this Friday, July 12. Date and venue information below:

Nov 9 – London Alexandra Palace – London, UK
Nov 10 – Leeds 02 Academy – Leeds, UK
Nov 11 – Manchester Academy – Manchester, UK
Nov 13 – Birmingham 02 Academy – Birmingham, UK
Nov 14 – Glasgow 02 Academy – Glasgow, UK
Nov 15 – Newport Centre – Newport, UK"

 Source: http://www.aliceinchains.com/uk-headline-fall-tour/

So we guess this is what the Nameless Ghoul was referring to when he mentioned a possible tour in support of a bigger band in the fall, back when he talked about this in an interview a few months ago.

Sounds like very good news for Ghost who will have the chance to be known by many more people and we are getting ready to hellcome tons of new devotees because we have no doubt their amazing music will surely impress the crowd!

Ghost At König Pilsener Arena, Oberhausen (GER) 06/07/2013

Dear fellow Ghost devotees,

Saturday has been another great opportunity for Ghost to bring their gospel to even more people since they have been playing as opening act before Iron Maiden in front of a massive crowd who had the pleasure to experience the brilliance of their performance and we know very well that in the live context Papa Emeritus II and the Nameless Ghouls really give their best. Here are some videos from the ritual so that we can have at least a taste of what the lucky attendants have witnessed in person:

"Infestissumam" + "Per Aspera Ad Inferi"

"Con Clavi Con Dio" (we can feel it so powerful even through the video!)
